Ps 65:2 What confidence can we have when we pray that our prayers will be heard? The Psalmist had such confidence that his prayers would be heard. He saw answers to his prayers and he grew more confident with each answered prayer to say "O Thou that hearest prayer." He saw answers to his prayers to continue in prayer and knew that he was heard.
Gen 8:20 "Then Noah built an altar to the Lord...and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
When "Noah went out" of the ark, his first act was to acknowledge the salvation that he had received from the Lord God Almighty. He built an altar to the Lord and made an offering to express praiseworthiness and worship unto God. The smell of the offering was "soothing" to God that He declared within Himself "I will never again curse the ground for man's sake...nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done." "And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day... Gen 3:8 (NKJ)
When God comes, will He find us waiting or hiding? The song writer penned the words "Trust and obey, for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey." These words are a simple truth, but not very simple for the reasoning mind of man. "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness..." So often we hear of people who set their mind for an ultimate achievement and gave their all to attain their goal. The pilgrims sailed the troubled waters of the Atlantic to establish their faith and freedom to worship Almighty God without the suppression and tyranny of their government. In 1517, Martin Luther posted his Thesis on the door of the All Saint's Church in Wittenberg that argued for true inner repentance for forgiveness of sin. His actions would open the door to the Reformation that would span across Europe and history. The intent of those who acted in these unique ways may not have been conceived to achieve greatness, but compelled by the righteousness of God and the love of Jesus Christ in their own lives as inspired in the Word of God.
"Not My will but Thy will be done." Jesus Christ stated these words then took up the Cross for the sin of the world and laid down His life. His total desire in life and ministry was to glorify His Father. He came to seek and saved that which was lost. Man, created in the image of God. You and I. Jesus Christ, the Innocent, laid down His life to die for those who are guilty. You and I. He followed and carried out the will of the Father to save all men from sin.
